The job was to construct a concrete wall with a life like rock facia.
John S, Meek Company was the General Contractor for the City of Los Angeles.
The purpose of the wall was to keep erosion from undermining residents homes.
The Project used the spider excavator towards the end of the job to
grade the slopes, and V-ditch at the bottom of the slope for drainage.
The work area on the project was very tight and steep. So the use of
a smaller Menzi Muck A51 Spider excavator was used instead of a larger model.
The project took 3 weeks to grade because of the steep terrain, and the process of
having to load into a forklift to remove the dirt without making any dust.
The job was also filled with other obstacles to work around like french drains,
and trees. The slope was difficult because you were going down a steep grade,
while also sitting on a steep grade. The slope was graded a week ahead of schedule.
